I was sitting in my car parked on a small car ferry crossing from mainland (Strawberry Point) across Hale Passage toward Lummi Island, Washington. The night sky was crystal clear, and I was marveling both at how incredibly calm and glassy the Sound was and that I could even see the stars reflections in the water. I'd never seen the water so calm there, especially to be able to see the stars reflecting in it, so i got out of my car and stood at the railing as the ferry slowly left Strawberry Point and chugged toward the island's landing dock (I'd guess it only goes 10mph or so). About one minute out, I saw what I assumed were two lights on a car (one white the other red) across the water rounding a bend on Haxton Way, the road that curves along the southern tip of the Lummi Indian Reservation (across Hale Passage from Lummi Island) approximately 3/4 mile from the ferry. I guessed I was seeing one headlight and one red running light on a car, close together, but they weren't following that curve in the road I was very familiar with. And because I could see those lights' star-like long reflections in the calm waters, I continued tracking them awhile. But when the lights moved beyond the end of that small peninsula, and carried on out into the strait between the mainland and small island just off it across Portage Bay--can't recall name of that island, its the Lummi tribe's sacred island off limits to non-tribe members--I knew they weren't from a car of course. As the ferry got about halfway out on the 6 minute crossing, I began to assume I was seeing the running lights on a Lummi fishing vessel. But even over the sound of the ferry's engine I normally would be able to hear a fishing boat's engine from that distance, approx. 3-500 feet by now. The two lights, a white one with a red one right next to it, continued on--perhaps just a few feet over the water--and so, still unsure of I exactly what I was tracking, I waited for this "boat" to cut across the many long, narrow reflections of house lights on the reservation's shoreline shining across the absolutely flat, still Sound water. I was waiting for those reflections to be interrupted and stirred about, which a boat's wake would do. But when these two lights--which appeared now to be moving faster than any fishing boat could, and I thought I might be seeing some fast harbor patrol boat or such speeding out toward open waters--crossed paths with those house light refections and DID NOT alter them in any way, the hair on my neck stood up. It was impossible. At this moment a man waiting in the car behind mine jumped out to the railing, he was seeing the same thing I was, and we exchanged silent shrugs, hands up in air etc as if to say 'what was that?' I then next saw the red and white lights pair moving so fast, just over the water and curving northwest beyond Strawberry Point and out toward sea and out of sight past the northern tip of Lummi Island, that I let out a loud gasp and 'what the f--k' exclamation. I expected the other guy to reply, but he just shook his head and quickly got back in his car without saying a word. Having seen another unexplained light phenomena on Lummi Island the year prior (I just posted that sighting to MUFON earlier)--and having zero explanation for ANY boat cutting across those house lights reflections without a single ripple in said reflections, its completely impossible--I was absolutely sure I'd just seen a UFO. When the ferry reached the Lummi Island dock, I asked a ferry worker directing traffic off the boat if he'd seen those lights. At first he just gave me a weird look, but then he said 'Lots of odd things happen over here' as he waved me to drive on up the landing's ramp. I was of course stunned by all this, driving my car up the road and pulling off at the first pullout I could find with a clear view of Hale Passage to look for more lights, etc. I must've sat there looking for an hour, trying to digest what had just happened. Will never forget it. It was 9 years ago--I just heard about MUFON on the radio so just now reporting--but, especially writing about it now, it feels all the more vivid in my mind. In a one-two punch within the past 24 hours, two more significant elements of the Stephenville, Texas, UFO sightings have occurred.

The information is astounding. And there may be more to come.

Late Thursday night, the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) released an extraordinary report about radar evidence pertaining to activities in the skies in the Stephenville region on Jan. 8, 2008.

Then, this evening, the widely-watched CNN program "Larry King Live" featured the two authors of the MUFON report, several of the Stephenville witnesses, the former local newspaper reporter who first broke the story and other guests.

The combined impact of these two developments has again put attention on this rural region of northeast Texas approximately 70 miles southwest of Fort Worth, the people who live there, investigators looking at the situation and the news media reporting about it all.

The authors of the MUFON report, Glen Schulze and Robert Powell, obtained radar information through the filing of 10 requests through the federal Freedom of Information Act. They received information from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), National Weather Service, all nearby military bases, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Services and the 21st and 30th Air Force Wing Commands, according to published reports.

They concluded that there were multiple non-military aircraft in the region that were unidentified and these correlated with witness reports. There was also unusually heavy military air traffic in the region that night.

BUSH RANCH AT CRAWFORD

Ever since news of the multiple sightings by highly-credible witnesses in areas around Stephenville and nearby Dublin, there has been speculation that the military jets seen in the area at the same time as the UFOs could be related to security for the Bush Ranch at Crawford, about 40 miles to the southeast.

Larry King asked about this on his show. Angelia Joiner, the former local newspaper reporter whose articles first caught the attention of the mainstream media, noted that many local people had wondered if there was some connection to the Bush ranch. But she indicated she had no specific information.

Now, the MUFON report clearly states that there were aircraft flying in the area that night without the transponders - aircraft identifier devices - and at least one appeared to be flying in the direction of the no-fly protective zone around the Bush ranch.

The MUFON investigators claim that one unknown object without a transponder was within 10 miles of the Bush ranch.

According to the MUFON report, "The object was traveling to the southeast on a direct course towards the Crawford Ranch, also known as President Bush's western White House."

"The last time the object was seen on radar at 8 p.m., it was continuing on a direct path to Crawford Ranch and was only 10 miles away. During the entire episode of over an hour, there is no indication that any of the military jets reacted to this unknown craft," the report concluded.

The object was tracked by radar heading in the direction of the Bush ranch for approximately one hour, the report stated. Moving at a speed of 532 miles per hour at one point, the object primarily was traveling at 60 mph.

MEDIA ON THE JOB

As usual, CNN host Larry King asked intelligent and common-sense questions of his guests.

The MUFON investigators pointed out that the extensive radar data indicated an extremely high level of activity - and unusual activity at that - in the region that includes Stephenville and Crawford that night.

King also interviewed witnesses Lee Roy Gaitan, a local law enforcement constable, and Ricky Sorrells, a resident.

Gaitan spotted strange lights himself and has had contact with fellow law enforcement officers in the region who also witnessed strange objects. One local officer claims he was able to determine the speed a low-flying and slow-moving craft with his police radar gun used to ticket speeders.

Sorrells told King he saw a massive dark gray metallic object 300 above him in a wooded area where he was deer hunting one day. The object was so large Sorrells said he could not determine the edges of it as far as the eye could see.

He said it was in a stationary position above him one minute and then, in the blink of an eye, it had taken off at a 45 degree angle while remaining horizontal, and was gone.

While King has exemplified responsible reporting by the media about the Stephenville case, he has not been alone. Associated Press reporter Angela K. Brown first picked up the early indications that something was going on from reports in the small Stephenville Empire-Tribune newspaper by Angelia Joiner who was then a reporter at the paper.

When the AP article was widely published and posted on the Web, other media outlets and journalists followed up. In general, media coverage appeared to be professional, diligent and responsible.

Now, with the surprisingly thorough scientific data and conclusions in the MUFON report, we may see similar follow-through by the media.

He talked about the efforts of the UFO group CSETI to "contact" ETs using flashing lights, lasers, etc. He played "crop circle tones," sounds recorded from inside crop circles and played back greatly amplified. None of this is new, CSETI has been doing it since the mid-90s. They see a light in the sky that they think is a UFO. They shine a light at it, and if it appears to flash or wink back, that is "ET contact." He also showed pictures of "falling flashes," which I think most people would call "meteors," and told of seeing bright flashes from a stationary source, apparently geosynchronous. Since nothing in geosynchronous orbit would flash, or be that bright, he suggested this was a true UFO. After his talk, I told Loder about Geosync Flashers, out-of-control satellites in near-geosynchronous orbit whose tumbling causes them to flash when the sun angle on their solar panels is just right. The brightest of them is Superbird A (NORAD 20040), a tumbling Japanese communications satellite that flashes brightly with a period of about 12 seconds for a few minutes each day when it is above the horizon at your location. " Travis WaltonOne interesting vendor was none other than Travis Walton himself, who was supposedly abducted by a UFO back in 1975, and was "missing" for five days. His case was made into the Hollywood movie Fire in the Sky." Philip J. Walton seemed to attract very little interest among the MUFON participants, almost as if they did not know (or care) who he is. UFOlogically speaking, Travis Walton is a "one trick pony," even though his "trick" was a mighty big one, one of the biggest in UFO history. But it was 36 years ago, and (apart from the promotions and debunking of it), nothing has happened since then. I have always felt uncomfortable around Travis Walton (our paths have crossed a few times), and he apparently with me as well. We did chat just a bit, but nothing of substance. What's the point? He knows that I call his case a hoax on my website. He and I both know perfectly well that his "abduction" was staged, apparently with the help of his friend Mike Rogers and his brother Duane, and that he was hiding out (likely at a property in the woods) while he was supposedly "missing." I can comfortably discuss UFOs with a MUFON investigator who, in my opinion, is seriously mistaken, but I can still respect him as a person of integrity. That is not so easy with Travis Walton. As I was standing near Walton's table, one fellow, tall, thirtyish, dressed in a nice suit, came up to tell how he had evidence of a UFO crash in Idaho, with lots of debris scattered over a large area. He didn't just see the debris, he saw the UFO crash. He had photos, all kinds of proof. Can we see it? "The photos are on a flash drive. I left it in the other hotel when I came here in the taxi." At first his story was that all that was needed was to go back in a taxi to get the photos and bring them here. But soon he was objecting that he was going to be writing a book about it, and he didn't want anyone to steal his discovery. The objections came swifter and stronger. It felt strange for me to be joining Travis Walton in critiquing a preposterous claim, but that's what happened. Apparently Mr. Idaho Crash told his story to a lot of people there, but offered absolutely no proof. I reflected to myself, "Why does this man crave attention so desperately to keep telling a story like that?"(to be continued)

1967 - A 14-year-old youth with the last name of Kirsch took a photograph of a disc-shaped structured object over Yorba Linda, CALIFORNIA at 5:25 p.m. The photo was reported in the Santa Ana Register newspaper, and subsequently evaluated by NICAP as that of a genuine (not hoaxed) flying object. He quickly rushed to another room to get his inexpensive Mark XII fixed-focus camera and returned within seconds. The object had moved farther away from the windowpane in the meantime, but that he was still able to snap one black-and-white picture before running downstairs, shouting for his family to come and view the strange craft. Unfortunately, by the time they had climbed the stairs, the UFO had moved out of sight. Tom had the impression that the object was "gigantic", but there was no objective reason to accurately talk of its size, so that this could be a subjective impression only. He regularly used a mail-order film company to process his photos, but they had lost a roll of film shortly before this incident, so instead of posting it by mail for developement, he asked a friend who was 14 to develop it for him. His friend was not an experienced developper, and the negative and photo emerged scratched, dulled, and was probably light-struck, so it had to be restored professionally later. The cheap camera also had a faulty winding mechanism that caused several long scratches on the negative. The sighting and the photograph came to the attention of Ann Druffel of NICAP's Los Angeles section in June 1967, and she subjected to analysis by six photographic experts during the next four years, including sophisticated aerospace photogrametric systems. All the experts estimated that the photograph was of a real, three dimensional object, either stationary or moving at slow speed. Double exposure, cutouts, hand-thrown, or string-suspended models possibilities were examined but ruled out. Tom had reported four thin appendages hanging down from the bottom rim, but on the photograph, only three were showing. One of the expert speculated that it could have withdrawn or folded up. Investigation revealed that when first seen, it subtended an angle of about sixteen degrees and about one degree when the photo was taken. Tom's visual impression was that the bottom rim was continuous and slanted like a top hat; however, the photo showed the rim was actually composed of egg-shaped bulges, from which the legs apparently protruded. Tom's character and reliability were checked, and appeared flawless. He was an honest, intelligent youngster, appreciated by his friends and school authorities. His family did not see the UFO, but confirmed that he had called them, and that he was very excited after he saw and photographed the object. The family tended to believe Tom for another reason: Tom, his parents, and his sister had seen a large silvery object with lighted windows on January 4, 1967 just twenty days before the hat-shaped object was photographed. Before this event they had no interest in UFOs and considered the subject silly and uninteresting. But following their January 24, 1967, sighting, they saw quite a number of other, more distant UFOs, and other residents of Yorba Linda and the area also saw some. Tom has never tried to make any profit with the photograph, and has made it available to researchers for use without restrictions. A photograph taken by a single witness could not shake NICAP's natural skepticism and caution, so they initially estimated that the photograph was a hoax. With further analyses, among other densitometer readings by a major California aerospace firm, who estimated that the object had photographed much darker than it should have, their cautiousness seemed justified. However, another study by a Southern California geodetic survey company revealed that the color of the object could be red, which would photograph darker than black. This seemed at odds with the witness' description, since he said the object was dark. Very interestingly, what happened was that this allowed to discover that Tom was colorblind in the red, seeing dark reds and maroon colors as rather black. Numerous studies continued later, and nobody could find any sign of hoax. In 1999, a computer-enhancement expert said he could confirm the three-dimensionality of the object, and he also found a faint highlight on the body of the craft, indicating probable reflection of sunlight off the rounded surface, consistent with the position of the sun at the time of sighting.ON THE OTHER HAND... Investigator Larry Robinson says: "January 24, 1967; Yorba Linda CA: This photo is of a satellite that was part of a Hasbro GI-Joe military space explorer set (with a space shuttle that was amazingly accurate for the 1966 release date). The focus of other objects indicates that the lens is focused on a small object very near to the camera. The fact that the object is darker than the window frame indicates that the object is inside the room. If it had been outside and larger, atmospheric scattering would have made the image much lighter."http://www.geocities.com/midimagic@sbcglobal.net/ufoclass.htmNOTE FROM CHUCK: I don't know what he means by "satellite" and "space shuttle." The only 1966 G.I. Joe space explorer set I could find came with nothing more than a tiny replica of a genuine NASA space capsule. This vehicle is neither a satellite nor a space shuttle, and is anything but amazingly accurate, for 1966 or any other year. In proportion to the G.I. Joe figure, the thing is considerably smaller than a phone booth. You would not get me up in one of those, even if my head was made of hollow plastic. The thin walls would not block out any harmful cosmic rays, and would certainly not survive the heat of reentry into the atmosphere. By the same token, it bears an amazing lack of resemblance to the object in the Yorba Linda photo. From The Mufon UFO Journal, June 1980, No. 148California Report Magnetic Anomalies and UFO Flight Part II (excerpt)By Ann Druffel On January 4, 1967, Tom X rose about 6:00 a.m. and went downstairs to the kitchen of his family's new townhouse. Looking out toward the eastern foothills, he saw an immense, oval-shaped object flying low over nearby homes. It was seemingly metallic and flashed red lights similar to the "taillights of a Thunderbird." Tom dashed upstairs to wake his family, and his parents and younger sister Alyce watched the huge object cruise leisurely out of sight over the isolated, hilly terrain on the eastern border of town. The family called a nearby air base, but were informed no vehicle resembling the giant craft was aloft. The X family seemed stable and reliable. None of its members had prior interest in UFOs. However, in succeeding weeks, Tom and other family members viewed other strange objects in the sky near their home. Intrigued, Tom bought a 5.00 Mark XII camera, hoping to photograph one of the unusual objects. On January 24, 1967, Tom was upstairs gathering material for his homework. Glancing out a bedroom window, according to his statement, he was horrified to see a dark, machine-like craft hovering near the house. It was shaped somewhat like a man's top hat, and four thin appendages dangled from the bottom. It had a curious dull, but nevertheless metallic, sheen, "like aluminum foil held at an angle." The surface of the legs had a similar appearance. (See Figure B) Tom dashed to his bedroom and returned within seconds with his camera. The object had moved away to the east, but Tom was still frightened of it. Crouching on the bed, he hurriedly snapped one photo, then dashed downstairs, calling for his mother and sister. When they returned upstairs with him, the object was no longer in view. They were impressed by Tom's disquieted state. Tom asked a 14-year old friend to develop the photo because he was afraid to trust mail-order processing. This young boy was inexpert, and the developed negative emerged lightstruck, scratched and fogged. However, it showed basically what Tom had described (4). The picture came into my hands in June 1967, and during the next 4 years was sent to six different photographic experts. None was able to prove it as a hoax, and all explanations such as double exposure, cutouts, hand-held model, etc. were ruled out. Most of the experts felt the picture to be genuine. In October 1971, the photo was taken for study by Al Cocking, then president of a Southland geodetic survey company. After using advanced photogrammetric equipment, Cocking stated his opinion that the photograph seemed to be that of an actual object, about 100 feet from the camera and three-dimensional. It's not uncommon, Mann told ABC15, for most UFO reports to be debunked or simply explained.

The person who recorded the video provided a detailed statement to MUFON and said the object emitted little sound and was not moving very erratically.

So is it a prank? Or is it some type of toy like a kite with lights attached? Or is it an unidentified flying object? MUFON plans to find out.

The sighting comes just as a new documentary on the 'Phoenix Lights' sighting is set to be unveiled at a Scottsdale movie theatre Sunday.

The documentary is said to include new information, new witnesses and a question/answer session from several researchers regarding the appearance of the lights over the Valley in March of 1997. "

I was on the phone via my sister. I was looking at the stars. At first i hunch it was a helicopter. it came straight up later than usual a hill started gyratory one way after that fresh. after that shot north and after that east arrived a moment. it after that went straight up after that fund down. after that it came flying straight on the road to my sect after that unused and hovered a few houses down from me. in the same way as it unused all the dogs in the town started barking a weepy. I was abysmal. i had chills i got a weird vibe from it. i watched it drift for a few report longer after that ran confined in the same way as it unpunctually started yet to come closer.

As far as I am concerned the jury is out on the subject of aliens. It is just one of those things I can't seem to make up my mind about. The scientific part of me says that the chance of there being another intelligent species out there some where is extremely high, but when I hear or read the reports of UFO's being seen I am always sceptical. I guess it is more the idea that if there was another species out there who visited us then why wouldn't they do more than just fly down over us for a few seconds before doing some aerial acrobatics and then flying away? If they are really intelligent wouldn't they contact our own leader rather than abducting and doing strange experiments on the local hick/town drunk?

However, it is hard to ignore the facts.

There have been more than eleven million sightings of UFO's and, as it points out in the movie, The Fourth Kind, anything else with that number of witnesses simply wouldn't be questioned.

From Arcturi.com This is a video of another UFO (see original here)over Norway, this one recorded on December the 10th one day after the famous December the 9th sighting. This sighting was seen by considerably less people. The video does seem to look more like a projectile then the other which resembles a portal of some kind. If these videos show Russian missile tests going wrong then we can deduce a few things. Russia is getting ready for a global conflict and we could see a nuclear end of the world coming soon. Additionally, Russia needs to work on its missile firing capabilities!If these videos display some kind of inter-dimensional portal or vortex then it could be possible these UFOs are using these portals to travel between dimensions. It could be possible that these are wormholes opening up at various size depending on either the speed or size of vehicle entering the space.Join the investigation here.

A fine disc-shaped Nameless In the air Obsession (UFO) was spotted ready over the skies of Derby, England.

Ufologist Scott C Waring and critic of the blog site Ufosightingsdaily posted the video of the sighting on his website and wrote: "This fine orb is not the moon. I saw the moon last night and its and no-one else a desire flake and wont be a well-to-do moon for awhile. This orb does ascend to move and drops down all the rage the clouds to submerge."

"Nice grow of a UFO over Derby for the outside rendezvous. This type of UFO has been repeatedly reported by UK press in the Derby area off and on all rendezvous", he further.

In the video, the fine UFO can be seen quieten on the sky, as a result of it tediously starts downstairs and disappears like murky clouds.

Colin Andrews One-Two Punch and New Book Creates a Firestorm. As a Result the Ministry

of Defence's Nick Pope Withdraws Much of the Official Government Statement on Crop

Circles and UFOs.

Colin Andrews delivered his first punch in New York last month at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, when he disputed the British

Governments official statement regards involvement of the Ministry of Defence in crop circle and Ufo research. Andrews showed

documentary evidence from his new book 'Government Circles' that they lied and consistently.

Punch two came in Washington D.C. days later during a powerful presentation at the X-Conference where additional indisputable evidence

was shown in the presence of the original government author, Nick Pope.

During the week that followed, Andrews appeared live on BBC radio again with Nick Pope where during heavy questioning, Pope admitted

that Andrews was right and effectively withdraw much of his original government statement. The actual government position and

involvement, as shown by Andrews are extremely important for both the crop circles and UFO subjects and demonstrate why we need to be

vigilant with the accuracy and truthfulness of statements made by governments, EVEN during this 'so called' period of CHANGE and

transparency. Andrews said "It's the truth we demand not version two of version one. We have to be sure that history is not re-written to

distort the foundation on which full disclosure is made and also that it IS full disclosure when it comes - so far it has NOT been, it's far from

it".

Back in England, researcher Andrew Russell is also asking questions of the MOD about the 'D-Notice'.

One of the more interesting facets of Colin Andrew's 'Operation Blackbird' was the D-notice served to Swindon's GWR station, preventing a live broadcast from the operation. The broadcaster involved was Dave Barrett, who emailed Colin after the event and stated the validity of his claims. Despite several FOIA attempts by myself the MoD have claimed that no such D-notice was served, or rather they had no documentary evidence of that fact. Using the text of the email, provided by Colin himself, I wrote to Air-Vice Marshal Andrew Vallance, who is the secretary of the Defence, Press and Broadcasting Advisory Committee. The committee is responsible for monitoring the DA Notices within the UK. (They used to be referred to as D-Notices but now re-titled to DA notices.) The committee is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) but the committee try to be as open as possible to avoid claims of cover-up.

In his response to my enquiry of the aforementioned D-notice, Mr Vallance is quite dismissive; "The phrase 'slap a D-notice on it' is commonly used by the media with great carelessness and to cover a multitude of circumstances. Claims such as that made by Dave Barrett carry no weight unless they can be supported by some form of documentary evidence". So the committee denies any D-notice was ever served, or rather, no evidence of it exists. There is a subtle difference. So has Dave Barrett lied? Unlikely, he stands to gain nothing by concocting such a claim. He is not involved in the crop circle phenomena as such, so gains absolutely nothing. We can look at the definite facts: for some reason the live broadcast from Operation Blackbird was cancelled. Swindon's GWR dedicated resources to this live broadcast so something significant would need to happen to cancel this live broadcast.

What this really points to is that someone, somewhere can use the power of the D-notice to cancel coverage of the crop circle phenomena, and can do it in a way that leaves no paper-trail or subjects anyone to any level of accountability for their actions. Again, the hidden-hand, the inner circle, the nameless ones, who can control situations with impunity, flex their muscle.

What this also highlights is that the MoDs 'UFO desk' is just a mickey-mouse public front that does not have any idea of the true scale of the UFO/Crop Circle phenomena. This also highlights the 'expert' status of the former MoD staff member Nick Pope. Nick had access to all the files that are currently being released by the MoD, and Nick claims no such D-notice was issued, so he has no knowledge of these inner workings and therefore we have to question why he still seems to publicise the official version of events when others such as Colin Andrews can blow huge holes in the 'official story'.

When I made a FOIA request to the MoD as to the extent of Nick Pope's role, the response was that Nick's general role was to "answer parliamentary enquiries, and correspond with members of the public on matters to do with UFOs," I believe that Nick's role was to front this public face of the MoD UFO desk, and broadly knows no-more than what is being released by the MoD anyway. Once all these files are released we will all know what Nick knows or had access to. The media views Nick as some expert and is regularly consulted, but his knowledge on what the MoD knows is very limited, so thus the information he provides the media with still toes the MoD line, he continues to do what he did for the MoD. And he generally plays down the MoD involvement with UFOs and Crop Circles. I have always been doubtful of 'game-keepers turned poachers', and I consider the media's continual courting of Nick rather than other researchers part of the conspiracy of silence.

The files being released are an attempt to fool the public, but as I have written and lectured on previously, the evidence of an inner-circle manipulating anything to do with UFOs and Crop Circles within the MoD is over whelming. The D-notice issue is not over yet, nobody is that good at continually covering their tracks, and I will shortly show, through 'their' mistake, that the D-notice was indeed issued. Stay tuned... @
