A fuzzy film of Caddy is shown. A sea serpent carcass supposedly from the stomach of a whale (fuzzy photo) disappeared before any scientists could investigate.

Only one local offers the explanation that Lake Okenagan is known to be populated by very large sturgeon. The show concludes that thoug skeptics and believers may never agree, sea monsters, and sightings of them, are here to stay.

This is a decent overview of the phenominon of sea & lake monsters, but offers very little in the way of tangible evidence or scientific analysis. If youre looking to get up to speed on sea and lake monsters, this may be useful. For the rest of us, theres nothing new or particularly insightful.

A Garston mother was left perplexed after spotting a bright UFO hovering over the town in the early hours of the morning.

Clare Norton made the discovery after being woken up by her hungry young baby at around 5.20am on Wednesday.

While waiting for a bottle to cool she decided to go into the back garden of Boundary Way house to have a cigarette and she spotted the stationary orb in the sky.

The mum-of-three said: "I was in the back garden having a quick cigarette and it looked like it was above Francis Combe School, but further away.

"I thought it was just a plane at first but it just stayed there and kept glowing for around 10 to 15 minutes. It was right in front of me and I thought 'what the hell is that?', it stayed right in front of me - I couldn't believe it."

At approximately 9:47 PM MT I had stepped outside on my back (west facing) porch for a smoke and look at the crescent moon which was approximately 75 degrees above the western horizon, when I witnessed a bright green object falling from the sky almost due west from my position. The object was large (about half the size as my pinkie fingernail) an very bright. The color was similar to a green traffic signal light. It left no obvious trail and fell in what appeared from my vantage point to be a nearly straight down fall. The light did not fade or diminish in anyway but rather simply disappeared at 4-5 degrees above the horizon.

As Nick Pope discusses in his book 'Open Skies, Closed Minds', the MOD's intention when recording accounts of UFO activity (something they now no longer do), was always to assess whether there was any threat to UK airspace. To this day the MOD's conclusion, after almost 60 years of gathering data, appears to be 'no'.

However, one could argue - as Nick points out to some degree in his book - that 'no threat' strangely allows for numerous accounts of UFOs or UAP that:-

* have near misses with military aircraft;

* have near misses with passenger aircraft sometimes carrying hundreds of people;

* routinely emerge, unidentified, in UK controlled - and sometimes restricted - airspace with no clear motive, largely unchallenged and vanishing as quickly as they appear;

* behave in a way that strongly suggests intelligent control; and

* still to this day - after decades of recorded accounts - exceed speeds or manueovers that can be performed by any current civilian or military aircraft.

Hmmm...

NASA is expected to announce awards for the COMMERCIAL CREW DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM-2 (CCDEV-2) this spring, a FBR CAPITAL financial analyst indicated two weeks ago giving favorable remarks on the specific chances of Orbital Sciences Corporation to GAIN FUNDING to proceed with the concepts relating its proposed PROMETHEUS SPACEPLANE.

There were INITAL REPORTS that NASA may announce contract awards this week, however, the Congessional budget shutdown may delay any announcement while federal departments and agencies await financial direction from the White House and Congress, notes ALAN BOYLE.

"This phase of CCDEV-2 would be a precursor to research and development and flight demonstration contracts, so it represents an opportunity for the industry to provide NASA with its best and most up-to-date ideas on how to provide astronaut transportation to low-earth orbit on a commercial basis," the FBR Capital analyst said.

"We think the industry's relative silence about the program indicates that it is also cautious over how the program will move forward. But, according to our contacts, Orbital Sciences, Boeing, SpaceX, and Sierra-Nevada seem the best positioned to win contracts, with Alliant TechSystems (ATK), Blue Origin, Excalibur Almaz, and United Launch Alliance [rounding out] the short list.

Virginia-based Orbital Sciences Corporation and California-based SpaceX are now under NASA contract to provide commercial space launch cargo and resupply to the International Space Station to 2015 with the first cargo ships arriving on-orbit early next year. Orbital Sciences will launch the new Taurus-II booster from Wallops Island, Va. while SpaceX will utilize the now flight-tested Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral, Fla.
