There were 5 of us sitting outside around 10:10 I looked over and up everyone else as well. We got up from the table and walked to the next lawn so we didn't miss anything. It lasted 2-3min tops. It's really hard to exp. them it looked like it could of been red/orange/yellowish orbs I know what those Chinese lanterns look like and this was no Chinese lantern. It started off in a pattern and then in a line up and down, top,middle,bottom. The size of it from where we were standing looked like a golf ball in a half. We lost sight of them going up to far they were just gone

UFO SIGHTING IN LONDON, ONTARIO ON SEPTEMBER 3RD 2013 - MYSTERIOUS LIGHT IN SW SKY TRAVELLING FROM RIGHT TO LEFT

While we were walking west in South London, my husband stood behind me and put his hands on my shoulders. I thought he was trying to stop me from running into a skunk which have been plentiful in the city this summer. Instead he pointed to the S/W area of the sky about 25 degrees or so up from the horizon. There was an unusual light in the sky. My husband said it caught his attention because it was so bright and the colour was such a bright shade of red- both characteristics together seemed strange to him. It was moving horizontally from right to left, SW to W, across the southern sky. At first I thought it was a jet plane with its red landing lights flickering as they sometimes do. But the light was flickering And pulsating not just flickering/blinking. The light seemed to be under intelligent control. It was a very controlled movement, not like one that was natural, i.e. movement due to wind. It seemed to be moving at the same rate of speed as a jet plane at some distance. Have no idea how big the light source was or how fast it was going. The light changed colour from Red to Orange. I don't think plane lights change colour. It also faded in intensity plus it was flickering and pulsating. Then the light brightened up again and then changed colour, again, this time to Bright Blood Red. Then the light changed colour from Bright Blood Red to Bright Purple or Violet. At that point, I said no, that's not right. Planes are never a bright, Reddish-Purple-Violet, flickering, pulsating light... Then the light changed colour again back to Orange Red and was flickering in and out of view. Then it did a slow U turn to travel back in the same direction it had come. At this point we lost sight of it as it went behind some trees. In all the sighting lasted only about 30 to 40 seconds. I don't know what to think. It didn't look like a plane. I've really only seen flares on video. I don't know if flares can travel across the sky and change direction. Unfortunately we did not have our cell phone with us but I don't know what would have been captured on camera even if we'd tried. We were too busy watching this light intently as it kept changing colours and the length of the duration of the sighting was pretty short. I don't know what to think. Strangest thing I think I've ever witnessed as an mysterious light in the sky.

Date: October 10, 2007 Time: 3:30 - 5:20 a.m.

Location of Sighting: Over St. Catherine's. Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 3 Shape of objects: N/A.

Full Description of event/sighting: I got up with the dog and went out on the balcony. I am looking at the sky because you can actually see some stars. I begin to look towards the area of St. Catherines and I see a bright orange light in the sky. At first I figure it is a plane that is coming towards Toronto. I look at it more and realize it is very low to be coming to Toronto at 3:30 in the morning. Where it was positioned there are two buildings that are very close to it. I grab the binoculars which are right next to me. I peer through them to notice the object is pulsing, but it is too far to make anything out. Then above it and to the left a bit a second light appears. I gasped and thought to myself 'am I seeing what I think I am' then suddenly a third one appears below the other two. There are now a trio of orange pulsing lights in the distance. The second light shut off, but you could see the shadow of the object move away. It moved up and to the right. I almost dropped the binoculars.

I pulled them back up to see the light go away on the last one to light up flicker off. Reminder there are buildings in my sights still and I can see that the lights are not moving at all. The first object is still lit up but it finally moves slightly to the left (east) and shuts off its lights. I can see a shadow of it as I follow it moving back to the west. It turned its lights back on again (I was following it exactly) It shut its lights off again and lifted up into the dark. 10 seconds later I see a plane fly through the area.

I finally grabbed my camera and got the best footage I could.

Following the dramatization of Mantell's plane crash, both the script and movie remain mostly faithful to one another as the story of the Air Force's "Project Sign" implementation is narrated. From the way Sperry posed in full pilot attire near a runway with an aircraft as a backdrop, we might almost think that American Airlines looked forward to publicity on the big screen -- and surely that would be an anomaly, considering the tight-lipped manner in which the major airlines generally reacted to UFO encounters in the fifties (particularly when close approaches resulting in evasive action and passenger panic or injuries occurred), fearful that "saucers" could scare away the flying public. Nevertheless, acquiring Sperry for a segment in "U.F.O." was a definite bonus and helped tremendously to infuse the authenticity necessary for a documentary approach. Unlike the labored Mantell scenes, Captain Sperry's story was laid out in about 90 seconds, and this segment, filmed in an airport environment, must have looked spectacular to the curious on a 1956 theater screen.The scenes move swiftly at this point, and as quickly as the audience is told of Project Sign's origin, a narrator states the agency was soon terminated. Of some interest, in the movie we are told, "On January 9, 1950, the press reported that Project Sign was closed. From now on, the Air Force stated, its only similar activity would be the routine, conventional watch for unidentified flying objects." However, the script varies here, informing us in these words: "On January 9, 1950, the press reported that the Air Force announced that Project Sign, including pictures of flying saucers, none of them genuine, will be placed on public exhibition in the Pentagon."

UFO SIGHTING IN REDMOND, WASHINGTON ON SEPTEMBER 22ND 2013 - UFO HOVERING 20 MINUTES

I observed the craft while standing in my garage door entry-way at approximately 8pm. The UFO initially passed over my home in a westward (east to west) direction. I initially noticed the object as it was very bright white in color. It had no strobes like a helicopter or airplane. I had expected it to be a plane or helicopter at initial glance. I watched its flight path thinking it was just going to continue on as most usual aircraft do when passing but this craft stopped and stayed in one location and hovered for about 15-20 minutes and did not move from the location. I did not take my eyes off of it. I have personally observed helicopters hovering but usually they change location of hover and give a very distinctive rotor sound. This craft had no sound. I live in a heavily wooded area and I could see that its position did not change because I could gauge its location/movement against the trees/branches it was above. I estimated the craft to be less than 1000ft from the ground. The object was diamond in shape, white top and bottom with the center pulsating and omitting a bright bluish white light. The weather was rainy with light cloud cover. I could initially see the object with no clouds surrounding it yet there was enough light to see some clouds pass in front of it on occasion. The object seemed to change shape from roundish fuzzy white exterior to a more distinct diamond shape. I had gone to retrieve my cell phone and binoculars to see it or photograph it. I could not get a clear enough photo with my cell phone due to the darkness and limited distance magnification. I was able to observe the craft through low magnification binoculars but could not make any further determination than seeing it with the naked eye. I do have 20/20 vision. I lost sight of the object after returning from inside my house after the initial 20 minutes of it being there.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT JAMES OBERG'S TRACK RECORD

UFO "skeptic" James Oberg is currently challenging the validity of the material found in journalist Leslie Kean's excellent new book, "UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record." Oberg is a founding member of a rather interesting organization, the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP) now renamed the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry (CSI).

Actually, CSI is a skeptical organization in name only when it comes to the subject of UFOs. Well, the organization's magazine, Skeptical Inquirer, has been edited since the early 1980s by Kendrick Frazier, whose profession is listed as "Science Writer" in the publisher's statement. Not mentioned (even in Frazier's own online bio) is the fact that he worked for 20+ years as a Public Relations Specialist at Sandia Labs, a leading U.S. government nuclear weapons laboratory.

Consequently, here is the situation: Hundreds of declassified documents clearly establish a link between UFOs and nukes, a fact confirmed by over 120 ex-military personnel interviewed by myself. And who is responsible for the content of the leading debunking magazine-whose pages routinely feature articles discrediting UFOs and those who report them? Why, a PR guy who worked for two decades for the U.S. government's nuclear weapons program!

Hmmmmm...

Also not mentioned in Skeptical Inquirer magazine, but discussed in my article (referenced above) is the fact that James Oberg, a leading UFO debunker at CSI, was a USAF Security Officer for nukes-related information who once privately chastised another former USAF officer, Dr. Bob Jacobs, for publishing what turned out to be Top Secret information about the nukes-related Big Sur UFO case. Fortunately, Dr. Jacobs later published the key portions of Oberg's letter. All of the documented details relating to this are available at my website.

So, when someone claims that Oberg is a true UFO "skeptic" or that his baby, CSI/CSICOP, is an objective, scientifically-oriented group that has no ax to grind when it challenges those who release sensitive UFO-related information--including the highly-credible individuals presented in Kean's new book--please send them to my website to learn the facts.

BTW, Leslie Kean's book, "UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record" contains the testimony of retired USAF Col. Charles Halt, who states that a UFO reportedly directed beams of light down into the nuclear weapons depot at the RAF Bentwaters airbase in England, in December 1980. The book is currently #30 on the New York Times Non-Fiction Bestseller List. Let's hope that it reaches #1 given that it should be read by everyone, skeptic and proponent alike.

UFO SIGHTING IN SUBOTICA, VOJVODINA ON SEPTEMBER 1ST 2013 - TWO STRANGE ORANGE COLORED LIGHTS, NOT IDENTIFIED LIKE SOMETHING WHICH WAS MADE BY HUMANS, WERE FLYING

At 8 PM, me and my husband saw two unidentified objects - bright orange colored, sphere-like, which were moving N-E in about 5-7 km height from ground at the distance of 15-20 km from us. We were walking our dog when I suddenly spotted those two objects gliding over the sky. Those objects were bright orange constant lights... We concluded its not airplaine, helicopter, glider,... anything we saw. Later that evening we heard six more people talking about the event. Unfortunately we didnt bring our cells to take photos or videos of it... Iam astronomer and I can surely tell it was not a comet, asteroid or meteor....

UFO SIGHTING IN COOLVILLE, OHIO ON JUNE 29TH 2013 - EGYPTIAN EYE SHAPED OBJECT FLEW FROM SOUTHEAST TO NORTH THEN DISAPPEARED.

I went out my front door to have a cigarette, my daughter came out with me. As we sat on the steps, I noticed a bright yellowish light on a hilltop to the southeast. It looked to me like the whole top of the hill was on fire but my daughter said it was a plane because we could hear one. It cleared the hill and when it did I could see it was huge-full moon sized. It got smaller as it came closer to us though. As it came closer the jet sound faded. The sound had actually been a plane far to the west. It stayed below the cloud cover and as it got closer we could see the lights. It looked like an Egyptian eye. It also had 3 lights above or on top of it. They were thin long lights. One was vertical and centered on top of it, the other two were on either side of the center one and one slopex to right one to left. It looked like a crown on top. Only the lights could be seen, I have no idea if the lights followed the outline of the object or not. It flew silently from southeast to north below the clouds and pazsed over my house. We stepped out into the yard so we could keep it in sight as it passed over our house. When it was over our back yard it simply winked out, but the light seemed to waver or shimmer first. The objects speed was about the same as an airplane. Feelings? Mainly disbelief. I have spent most eveni.gs stargazing for the past 40 years and this is the only time I have been absolutely certain as I was seeing it that it was not a satellite or conventional aircraft. Hope you guys can tell me wjat it was.

While I'm agnostic as to the ultimate nature of UFOs, I'm comfortable asserting that the phenomenon is both physically real and under intelligent control. Too brash a deductive leap? Given the available evidence, I don't think so. Indeed, my position isn't nearly as hard-set as that of most speculators among the loosely knit UFO "community." So what are we dealing with? Does intelligence imply an extraterrestrial origin? And is my agnosticism simply a mask with which to deter meandering conspiracy theories and hoary notions of human-ET treaties?

I think the answer is "no" on both counts. The data suggests an enigma of enduring complexity and bewildering scope. While possibly ET, there's no clear link; more often than not, credible reports of "ufonauts" indicate beings with all-too-human mannerisms and motives. If the UFO phenomenon has a purpose, perhaps it's to challenge entrenched ideas about our role as sentient observers. The ever-colorful "space visitors" encountered since 1947 could be the vanguards of an unknown manifestation of consciousness. (Far from invalidating the UFO inquiry, such a discovery would likely propel a new era of scientific understanding. If so, would our collective unconscious adopt some new disguise and cease to provide us with novel visitors and resplendent "craft"?)

Harvard psychiatrist Dr. John Mack once described alien abductions as an example of "reified metaphor." While he believed his patients' accounts of sexually charged encounters with apparent aliens were sincere, he was reluctant to accept them literally. In "Passport to the Cosmos," he mused that activities endured during "abductions" might herald a sort of cosmic wake-up call -- real enough, but only as real as scenes in a stage play. Like self-professed abductee Whitley Strieber, Mack seemed intrigued by the idea that the mind, subjected to a sufficiently foreign stimulus, could produce imagery culled from myth or even pop culture. (Extraterrestrials, big-headed and bug-eyed, seem like suitable candidates for a population weaned on science fiction.)

Of course, that begs the question of where the archetypal "Gray" originated in the first place. British researcher Albert Budden, a strident critic of the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis (ETH), suggests that the minimal physique ascribed to the Grays of abduction infamy might have a basis in neuro-anatomy. If he's right, that still leaves us to sort out cases with physical effects (J. Allen Hynek's "close encounters of the second kind").

Some will doubtlessly argue that I'm over-thinking the controversy. Maybe the ETH will triumph by virtue of its simplicity; after all, aliens from space -- strange as they might be -- are consistent with known physics. Speculating about the role of consciousness and the very nature of "real," on the other hand, might seem abstruse or even like an effort to apologize on behalf of the phenomenon itself.

But our understanding of the Cosmos is still in its infancy; indeed, there's no consensus on what consciousness itself is, let alone its implications in a universe governed by quantum physics. Mathematician Roger Penrose, for example, has argued that a genuine "Theory of Everything" will necessarily incorporate the role of awareness and that current approaches are doomed to failure.

Likewise, I'm hesitant to invoke ETs as a solution to the UFO puzzle until we come to a more mature grasp of the physical basis for human intelligence. If "reality" is more malleable than we think (or admit), we might be delighted to find that our universe is inundated with intelligence. UFOs could be emissaries from a parallel world acting in tandem with our minds. By taunting us, they could be subtly directing us toward new models of reality in which the very concept of "alien spaceships" is almost embarrassingly quaint.
