It's an international conspiracy worthy of the "X-Files."British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Dwight Eisenhower covered up a UFO sighting during World War II in an effort to prevent mass panic, a letter sent to the British government suggests.The missive was one of thousands of documents related to the sighting of unidentified flying objects released by the United Kingdom's National Archives on Wednesday.This is the second mass release of UFO-related documents this year, and the sixth since 2008. UFO PHOTOGRAPHED ABOVE PERM, SIBERIAOver the last week a number of residents of the city of Perm in Siberia have complained to local authorities of unusual glowing orbs following them around. The local police have received at least three official reports of this nature.
Some of the witnesses have video-taped and taken photos (see above) of the UFO events and authorities are now believed to be examining the footage. It has been also claimed that unusual activity on the ground was reported in the vicinity of these UFOs. Apparently in one case one of the UFOs burnt a round area in grass remotely.

LONDON - Britain released hundreds of previously secret "UFO files" on Thursday including a letter saying that Winston Churchill had ordered a 50-year cover-up of a wartime encounter between a UFO and military pilot.
The files, published by the National Archives, span decades and contain scores of witness accounts, sketches and classified briefing notes documenting mysterious sightings across Britain.
One Ministry of Defence note refers to a 1999 letter stating that a Royal Air Force plane returning from a mission in Europe during World War Two was "approached by a metallic UFO". Read rest here

For years top secret documents containing claims of UFO sightings and unexplained events have been hidden away from the public view.But today, thousands of Ministry of Defence documents have been de-classified and published, including reams of enquiries lodged with Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans.The documents, which have been transferred to the National Archives, show that during the mid-1990s Mr Evans received a variety of letters from his constituents asking him to find out about sightings and phenomena they could not explain.Among the inquiries were letters from people who claimed to have witnessed a flying object or plane crashing off Morecambe Bay, in October 1996, and a claim made by a Preston resident who believed he had seen a similar occurrence off the Island of Lewis, in Scotland.
